Nino Salvaggio is currently looking for a Wine Manager for our Troy location.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Develop and implement action plan in order to achieve the sales, gross profit, customer service and labor goals established for the department.
- Direct and supervise all functions and activities of the wine, beer and liquor departments including sales, merchandising and distribution.
- Ensure compliance with all state, county and local alcohol sales laws and labeling requirements.
- Adhere to all local, state and federal health and labor laws, OSHA regulations and EEOC requirements ensuring that the work environment is safe and free from discrimination and harassment.
- Oversee all aspects of employee management, including but not limited to: training and development, time and attendance, employee purchase policy, discipline, reward, planning and directing work, etc.
- Assist customers with their wine and alcohol purchases while providing excellent customer service.
- Properly follow all purchase order guidelines for ordering and receiving product.
- Ensures that wine, beer and liquor back stock is properly ordered, stored, priced and organized.
- Follow all Nino Salvaggio guidelines when participating in company sponsored wine, alcohol or beer tastings.
- Properly handle damaged and spoiled products according to company policy and control the level of damaged goods.
- Submit required reports, purchase orders and surveys to store management in a timely manner.
- Attend the Responsible Alcohol Sales training class.
- Oversee special projects and/or purchases, as assigned.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Must have previous wine/alcohol management experience.
- High school diploma or GED, required.
- Sommelier certification or coursework, preferred.
- Specific experience in wine sales, wine buying and product knowledge, required.
- Previous wine knowledge, including, regions, grapes, vintages, futures, etc.
- Knowledge of the many varieties of beer, alcohol, champagne, etc., preferred.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Must be able to work nights and weekends.
- Must be able to effectively present reports to small and large groups.
- Must be able to stand and/or walk for 8 or more hour periods.
- Must be able to regularly bend, lift and/or move 25 pounds.
- Must be able to frequently bend, lift and/or move 50 pounds.
- Ability to multitask, problem solve and maintain a positive attitude.
