As an Anesthesiology Physician, you will play a crucial role in patient care, providing anesthesia services across a variety of procedures. You will collaborate with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes while working in a fast-paced and supportive setting.

Responsibilities

• Administer anesthesia to patients undergoing surgical and medical procedures
• Monitor patients' vital signs and adjust anesthesia levels as necessary
• Communicate with surgical teams to coordinate anesthesia care
• Conduct pre-anesthesia assessments and post-anesthesia care
• Educate patients about anesthesia procedures and post-operative care
• Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical records
• Stay current with advancements in anesthesiology and best practices
• Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations

Requirements

**Specialty**: General Anesthesiology

**Reason for Coverage

**Coverage Dates**: Immediate start – 6-month assignment with potential extension, full-time commitment only

**Setting**: Hospital environment

**Shifts/Schedule**: Primarily Sunday to Monday, averaging 4-5 shifts of 10 hours each per week (7 AM – 5 PM). Mandatory participation in at least one weekend per month and availability for 2 out of 3 holiday weeks.

**Daily Responsibilities**: Delivering general anesthesia primarily for general surgery, orthopedics, gynecology, urology, with occasional minor neuro cases (though infrequent).

 No obstetric or cardiac anesthesia will be involved. 

The provider will be responsible for a limited number of standard pediatric cases. The facility employs CRNAs; therefore, candidates should be prepared for occasional assistance with anesthesia delivery.

**Call Schedule**: No call responsibilities.

**Patient Volume**: Estimated case load is typically 4-6 cases per shift, contingent on the designated area.

*Staffing**: Multiple anesthesiologists and CRNAs will be present for shifts. Limited CRNA oversight, if applicable.

**Electronic Medical Record System

**: EPIC

**Credentialing Timeline**: Approximately 90 days from application submission.

**Required Certifications**: Board Certified; BLS, ACLS, and PALS certified (American Heart Association standards).
