About the Position

Job Title: Cardiac Cath Lab Tech Profession: Cardiovascular Cath Lab Tech Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 Experience: Minimum 1 year in Cardiac Cath; permanent pacemaker placement experience preferred; usage of Impella and balloon pump required. License: BLS, Radiology certification Certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification within 3 months of employment; RCIS exam or Radiologic Technologist License within 1 year of hire Must-Have: - Two years prior experience in a Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory or invasive procedure area in an acute care hospital. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Familiarity with computers, hemodynamic monitoring, and sterile operative techniques. - Proficient in Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite platform. Description: The Cardiovascular Technologist will assist physicians with all invasive cardiac and peripheral diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. This includes temporary and permanent pacemaker placement. The Cardiovascular Technologist will assist with circulatory support devices as indicated. Responsibilities include preparing and organizing specific equipment and sterile trays for each procedure. You will assist the procedure room team with patient positioning and preparation for monitoring. Calibration and testing of transducers for accurate pressure readings is required. You will assist physicians throughout diagnostic and interventional procedures. Loading and operating power injectors and associated sterile support equipment is necessary. You will maneuver table controls for physicians as requested. Calibrating hemodynamic monitoring equipment and obtaining, calculating, and analyzing hemodynamic data is essential. Calculating and recording cardiac output and oximetry readings is part of the job. The role includes using and maintaining digital cine technologies and adhering to protocols for patient image storage and retrieval. You will assist with vascular access, sheath removal, and hemostatic closure devices while maintaining hemostasis at the access site. Inventory control and preparation of required equipment for each procedure are also part of the responsibilities. Adherence to clinical practice requirements related to Cardiovascular Information Systems is necessary. You must operate equipment safely, prepare and care for it, and manage supplies as necessary. Participation in on-call responsibilities as per organizational policy is required. Application of radial access banding and interpretation of cardiac arrhythmias will be part of your duties. You will assist in maintaining, calibrating, and evaluating all diagnostic and technical equipment. The role involves physical demands, including lifting, pushing, and standing for extended periods. You will identify patient population needs and deliver care accordingly. Adherence to radiation safety standards and promoting a professional environment through role modeling is expected.
