Physician Assistant, OBGYN Services, Wilmington and Newark, DE

ChristianaCare is hiring a Physician Assistant for its inpatient OBGYN Physician Assistants Group. The position is full‑time day/evening, 10‑hour days with weekend rounding and call. Services are provided at Wilmington Hospital (Wilmington, DE) and Christiana Hospital (Newark, DE). Responsibilities Admit patients on behalf of the supervising physician Complete history and physicals Develop treatment plans Make rounds at the direction of the supervising physician Record progress notes Order, assess, and interpret diagnostic tests and therapeutic modalities, such as medications, treatments, and examinations Initiate referrals to appropriate physicians or other healthcare professionals Instruct, educate, and counsel patients and families regarding health status, test results, disease process, and discharge planning Participate in discharge planning Obtain consents for procedures for which privileges are held Perform core duties including IV placement, blood draws, injections, dressing changes, OB and GYN procedures, wound closures, removal of sutures, debridement of wound infections, and removal of foreign bodies Assist in surgery first and second assist in the operating room, including but not limited to Da Vinci robotics, laparoscopic, and open procedures as well as cesarean sections Procedures Biopsy (cervical, endometrial, skin, vaginal, vulvar) Cystoscopy Pelvic floor training Pessary insertion and removal Provider‑performed microscopy (urine, KOH, Wet Prep)
