FleetPride is looking for a Diesel Technician I to join our growing service team in Fort Wayne, IN . This is more than a traditional technician opportunity. We are looking for a skilled mechanic or technician who understands heavy-duty truck and trailer repair and knows how to build relationships with customers and fleets . If you have a strong mechanical background, enjoy working directly with customers, and have established relationships or a book of business that you can bring to a service department, we want to talk to you!

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

• Diagnose, maintain, and repair heavy-duty trucks and trailers.
• Perform preventative maintenance and inspections.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, air, brake, suspension, steering, and other truck/trailer systems.
• Perform repairs and component replacements with limited supervision.
• Identify additional repair and maintenance needs and communicate recommendations to customers.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with fleet customers and owner-operators.
• Help identify opportunities to bring additional service business into the shop.
• Communicate effectively with customers, technicians, and service leadership.
• Maintain accurate service records and documentation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Follow all company and federal safety and service standards.

WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

• Heavy-duty diesel/truck or trailer repair experience.
• Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently while being part of a team.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Professional, dependable, and motivated attitude.
• Ability to build and maintain customer relationships.
• Existing relationships with fleets, owner-operators, or other commercial customers is a strong plus.
• A proven book of business or ability to generate service opportunities is highly valued.
• Own hand tools and air tools.
• Valid driver's license.
• CDL is a plus, but not required.
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs.
