Registered Nurse - Medical Imaging

Summary of Position Organizes and administers individualized, professional patient care. Provides nursing care as directed by the medical staff and in accordance with the objectives, policies and procedures of Wilton Medical Arts Urgent Care and the state Nurse Practice Act. Maintains standards of nursing care as established. Participates in patient teaching and discharge planning, quality improvement activities, and age‑specific care planning. Assumes Resources Nurse responsibilities as needed. Primary Responsibilities Patient Assessments : Incorporates appropriate assessment and intervention skills that are age‑specific. Assesses patients’ physical/psycho‑social status, analyzes relevant data, integrates results into care planning, and administers therapeutic interventions, pain management, IV therapy and medications. Ensures patient, colleague, and self safety and protection. Communication : Communicates with patients, colleagues, providers, and management accurately, considerately, and in a timely manner. Applies culturally sensitive communication skills and accommodates language barriers and sensory or cognitive deficits. Provides concise SBAR reports and documents in a complete, timely, and concise manner. Problem Solving : Uses critical thinking to achieve outcomes and solve problems within experience limits. Collects data from multiple sources, seeks assistance when needed, and supports clinical decision‑making with evidence‑based practice. Caring Relationships : Builds caring relationships that place patients and families at the center of care. Engages in non‑task related introductions, converses at eye level, uses touch appropriately, informs patients/families, involves them in decision‑making, and anticipates needs. Protects autonomy, dignity, and rights, and advocates for advanced directives when applicable. Time Management : Manages own workload and resources, prioritizes tasks, adapts to changes in patient condition, and maintains a clean and orderly environment. Leadership : Delegates, provides feedback, coordinates multidisciplinary care, manages conflict, and promotes professional practice through participation on committees, councils, policy development, or professional organizations. Teaching : Incorporates teaching to promote health and prevent disease. Assesses barriers to learning, instructs patients/families on medication use and discharge procedures, consults the multidisciplinary team, and provides counseling on health behaviors. Qualifications Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and licensed to practice in New York State. BSN preferred; AAS graduate must complete a BSN within 4 years from hire date. Minimum one year of clinical experience in Emergency Medicine. BLS required. ACLS and PALS required within one year of employment.
