This position will work evening shifts, and every 12th weekend.Why UPMC Presbyterian?Career Growth: We offer a clear pharmacy career ladder with opportunities for advancement, continuous training, and ongoing education.Diverse Practice Opportunities: Unique opportunity to work in various specialized areas, including the operative satellite pharmacy, PACU, and sterile products areas.Collaborative Environment: Join a supportive, team-focused environment where your contributions are valued.Innovative Excellence: Be part of a top academic medical center committed to healthcare innovation, research, and education.Impactful Work: Play a vital role in ensuring patients receive timely, safe, and effective medications—directly supporting their recovery and overall care.Responsibilities:Review, maintain, and screen patient medication records and profiles for allergies, drug interactions, and therapeutic duplications while entering orders and/or verifying medications.Identify and report suspected adverse drug reactions accurately and in a timely manner.Interpret and evaluate physician orders to prepare, calculate, and dispense appropriate medication dosage forms for inpatient and outpatient treatment in accordance with the Practicing State's Pharmacy Practice Act, Federal Drug Laws, and other regulatory organizations.Prepare and dispense intravenous admixture solutions, as required, using aseptic technique in an accepted sterile product preparation area.Organize daily operational duties and assist in the supervision of pharmacy technicians, pharmacy aides, student interns, and other ancillary personnel involved in providing pharmaceutical care.Fill prescription orders in accordance with State and Federal regulations, utilizing technological resources and equipment.Provide drug information and/or educational programs to healthcare professionals and pharmacy students.Graduate of an ACPE accredited College of PharmacyB.S in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degreeCurrent licensure as a Pharmacist in practicing stateNo previous experience requiredPrevious pharmacist experience preferredPrevious experience in perioperative and sterile products compounding preferredLicensure, Certifications, and Clearances:PharmacistUPMC is an Equal Opportunity Employer/Disability/Veteran
