ABBA Roller is seeking a Production Supervisor. This position is responsible for the overall production and supervision of the assigned production department at ABBA Roller’s facility in Ontario, CA. This position will work closely with other departments and support teams to ensure alignment to ABBA Roller directives and initiatives. This is a hands-on leadership role that will directly contribute to the growth of business through positive trending of customer related metrics. Critical metrics for this role are as follows: Safety, Quality, Productivity, On-Time-Delivery, Cost, and Employee Supervision and Retention.

This position works in a dynamic and fast-paced team environment and utilizes knowledge of lean manufacturing practices to deliver world class results in efficiency, quality and productivity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

• Embodies a “Safety First” culture
• Supervises assigned department operations in alignment with strategic business plans and goals
• Schedules work to the department daily to ensure that OTD and quality requirements are achieved
• Maintains KPI metrics for Safety, Quality, Delivery, Inventory, and Productivity within department
• Manages capacity for department by level loading and driving improvements
• Coordinates with Supervisors of other departments, Inventory Control, and Quality to ensure commitments are met while utilizing the capacity of the operation in an efficient manner
• Operates with clear and proactive communication to all relevant departments, including Planning, Purchasing, and Customer Service
• Drives positive customer experience with a focus on Quality and On-Time Delivery
• Works with Facilities team to ensure all equipment is properly maintained and is operating in a safe manner.
• Manages, develops, and leads talent within the organization
• Utilizes continuous improvement (lean) across all areas to improve cost, quality and efficiency
• Provides a safe work environment through focus on 6S, risk reduction and data driven decision making.
• Supports capital projects related to assigned department
• Drives accurate job traveler adherence and completion in department
• Supports compliance with all local, state and federal regulatory agencies including OSHA and AQMD
• Mitigates legal risks in areas pertaining to applicable Employment Laws through timely and accurate documentation in areas of Performance Management, Employee Relations and Investigations, Safety and Worker Compensation.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• An Associates degree or a High School Diploma/GED plus four (4) years relevant experience. Appropriate certifications may be substituted for meeting educational requirements only. Polymer manufacturing environment preferred.
• Experience in a low volume/high mix manufacturing environment
• Experience in Lean Manufacturing
• Experience working with ERP and MES systems
• Ability to maintain a safe working environment through proper housekeeping, safety and EHS procedures and practices and OSHA compliance
• Understanding of manufacturing technologies and processes

COMPETENCIES:

• Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and listening). Ability to adjust communication style to multiple audiences, facilitate group coaching, and information sharing. Ability to positively address and effectively deal with noncompliance through effective interpersonal skills. Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
• Excellent people skills – maintain a positive attitude and ability to motivate people, specifically coaching individuals and providing appropriate feedback and support.
• Able and willing to face challenging situations. Developed ability to build relationships based on trust and open communication
• Able to manage multiple priorities at one time through highly developed organizational and planning skills.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting through root cause problem solving
• High energy level and excellent follow-up
• Good computer skills in Microsoft Office and working knowledge in ERP/MES systems

TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

• On the job training will be conducted on Procedures and Work Instructions from the area of responsibility.
• Yearly refresher training on relevant Safety and QMS policies.
