NVR – the parent company of Ryan Homes, NVHomes, and Heartland Homes – is searching for an   Architectural Technician   to join our team and be an integral to our Architectural Services Department which emphasizes teamwork and innovation.   This team is responsible for developing crucial construction documentation for sales, permitting, and homebuilding construction. You ’ ll play a central role in our dynamic product development process, including collaborative 3D building information modeling (BIM) using AutoCAD. You will be involved in projects that span from design drawings and structural analysis to building systems and code compliance.

What you will be doing:

• Develop highly detailed and accurate residential construction documents including elevations, foundations, floor plans, building sections, kitchen & bath plans, electrical layouts, stair designs, and floor framing plans.

• This requires a demonstrated understanding of written and verbal guidelines on elements such as structure, residential construction, material takeoffs, NVR option system, roof framing, panel fabrication, and/or building codes.

• Research and compile information, consulting with project team members and subject matter experts as required, to support overall project completion.

• Maintain assigned portion of the project schedule and record accurate hours worked on each project.

• Review own work for basic technical and quality compliance. Developing ability, experience, and knowledge to meet the full quality and technical standards set by NVR.

Qualified applicants have:

• 1+ years’ experience in the architecture, engineering, or construction industries.

• Experience with 3D modeling software preferred

• Bachelors or Associates degree or equivalent drafting / AutoCAD work experience

• Ability to read and interpret construction documents

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

• Strong attention to detail, planning and organizational abilities

• Ability to multi-task and adapt to changing demands in a fast-paced, professional team environment

• Well-developed problem solving and analytical skills

• Experience in residential homebuilding or production homebuilding preferred

This position pays $55,000-$60,000 per year. Individual pay is determined by factors including the candidate’s job-related skills, experience, relevant education, and location.
