Registered Nurse - Intermediate Care Unit

Schedule

This position requires 12-hour day shifts and includes weekends as scheduled. Nurses will need to work a minimum of 3 night shifts per 4-week schedule if they work straight days.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Intermediate Care Unit (IMU). The unit features a 30-bed capacity, consisting of 14 private and 16 semi-private rooms. Our ideal candidate will provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment, with a focus on critical cases and intermediate care acuity.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient assignments with a typical ratio of 1:5, with occasional ratios up to 1:6.
• Interpret telemetric strips and communicate findings as needed; nurses are expected to titrate drips including Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Heparin among others.
• Collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals including Hospitalists, Intensivists, and IV teams who are in-house 24/7.
• Monitor and manage patients post-procedure and those requiring intermediate care, including post-cath and pacemaker patients.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current RN license.
• BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are required.
• Experience in an Intermediate Care setting preferred.
• Ability to work flexible hours including holiday coverage if necessary.
