Welcome to the Whittier City School District a Transitional Kindergarten through 8th grade school district with eight elementary schools two middle schools one K-8 school and two virtual learning academies. We serve approximately 6300 students who matriculate into the Whittier Union High School District. Whittier City School District offers advanced technology programs including 1:1 devices Apple TV and innovative instruction to support all students. Whittier City School District is one of seven local districts that join together in a Special Education Cooperative (SELPA) serving Whittier area special needs students. Job Description / Essential Elements: Print

• Effectively communicate and collaborate with staff to help solve problems with technology
• Provide technical support for technology devices printers and audio/visual equipment
• Maintain an inventory using serial numbers and location of all technology equipment assigned to users
• Troubleshoot technology devices
• Install and download applications and software as needed
• Maintain and program the school marquee
• Support online educational testing
• Work closely with principal to determine their needs set up any technology equipment needed for events and/or meetings
• Assist principal and District Technology staff to support the roll out of our Bring Your Own Device program
• Requisitions stores and distributes inventory of educational materials supplies and equipment;
• Assists students by conducting a variety of computer literacy instructional exercises and by presenting various instructional materials designed to enhance the learning process ;
• Assists students/staff in their awareness of computer programming and computer operational functions;
• Develops and assists in the development of specialized instructional materials;
• Tutors individuals and small groups of students/staff to enhance the learning process;
• Performs a variety of routine tasks as assigned by site and/or district technologydirector/coordinator

Knowledge of :

• Basic behavior management and instructional strategies and techniques;
• Appropriate English usage punctuation spelling and grammar;

The physical requirements indicated below are examples of the physical aspects that this position classification must perform in carrying out essential job functions.

Persons performing service in this position classification will exert 10 to 20 pounds of force frequently to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects.

This type of work involves sitting most of the time but may involve running walking or standing for brief periods.

Perceiving the nature of sound near and far vision depth perception providing oral information handling and working with various materials and objects and the manual dexterity to operate business related equipment are important aspects of this job.

The Technology Aide works under supervision to perform a variety of technology device instructional activities including digital citizenship curriculum. Assists in the implementation of a 1:1 technology device classroom environment; performs routine clerical and supportive tasks for instructional personnel; provides technical support for devices and equipment and does other related work as required.

• Certificate Copy (Transcripts or certificates indicating type of technology coursework)
• Copy of Transcript (AA/AS certificate-minimum requirement of 48 semester units plus High School Graduation/GED) OR Pass the Districts Instructional Aide Proficiency Exam)
• Proof of HS Graduation (Minimum requirement of HS graduation with 48 college semester units )
• Resume (References included (3-5))
