Camp Canteen Specialist (2950)

Job Details Job Location: PMC-Camp Rappahannock, Virginia - Richardsville, VA 22736 Job Category: Camp Schedule/Hours: Seasonal Full-Time Key Responsibilities Plan, coordinate, supervise, and evaluate the day‑to‑day operations of the canteen and assist in office duties under the office manager. Coordinate the stocking of the canteen with drinks, snacks, and drink machines; ensure popular items are always available and that orders are approved before being placed with vendors. Maintain records of canteen supplies used for the camp program. Prepare detailed inventory of all clothing, food, and beverages and monitor any cash received at the canteen until it is turned over to the Camp Office Manager. Maintain and clean the canteen daily: empty garbage cans, check restrooms, restock supplies, hose down the outside area, and receive, record, and secure camper money on registration days. Assist with copying, filing, or other office responsibilities as needed, and with preparations for camper registration including checking in paperwork. Participate enthusiastically as part of the camp staff to deliver and supervise evening programs, special events, overnights, and other all‑camp activities and functions. Supervise any staff members assigned to work the canteen. Physical Requirements and Working Conditions Endurance required, including climbing, standing, bending, stooping, and stretching. Eye–hand coordination and manual dexterity are necessary to manipulate activities. Normal range of hearing and eyesight is required to record, prepare, and communicate appropriate camper activities/programs. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. Willingness to live in a camp setting and work irregular hours delivering program within the facility. Daily exposure to sun, heat, and varying environmental conditions. Additional Information Camp Staff Orientation will be held 06/15/2026 – 06/21/2026 and participation is required. The 2026 summer Camp program session will be held 06/22/2026 – 07/27/2026. What We Are Looking For In You Two years’ experience working with children in a camp environment preferred, OR any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
