Baylor Scott & White Medical Center – Uptown is a joint venture surgical hospital between Baylor Scott & White Health (BSWH), United Surgical Partners International (USPI), and local physicians. This hospital provides a wide range of medical and surgical services across 8 operating rooms, 24 private inpatient rooms, and a full‑service emergency department. It specializes in both inpatient and outpatient procedures in Orthopedics, Joint Replacement, Spine, General, Bariatrics, Surgical Oncology, ENT, Reconstructive Surgery, and other surgical specialties. Responsibilities The Supervisor is responsible for the direction and leadership, operational, financial, programmatic, and personnel activities for the Emergency Department. This includes establishing, meeting, and continuously monitoring goals and objectives while maintaining alignment with the organization’s strategic objectives. Major responsibilities are directing day‑to‑day operations, financial management, and human resource management, working with leaders across the organization. Provides an experience and environment of patient and family centered care, incorporating the organization’s mission and values. Creates and maintains a satisfying workplace that fosters professional growth and job satisfaction for all members of the healthcare team. Develops and implements recruitment and retention strategies that support a culture of leadership. Determines the qualifications and competencies of the personnel who provide patient care services. Directs quality assurance and process improvement activities, and ensures compliance with patient care practice standards. Continually assesses and improves the performance of the services provided. Collaborates with hospital personnel and physicians to ensure optimal patient care. Promotes a positive working environment in the department and hospital. Ensures services maintain compliance with the standards of practice for the department as well as regulatory and/or accreditation agencies. Identifies cost‑effective systems needed to support the business of the department, taking into account business trends, resource availability and changes in customers. Establishes effective working relationships with all constituencies including patients, physicians, employees, volunteers and vendors. Collaborates with senior management in meeting facility goals. Takes patient assignments as needed to meet census demands and fluctuations. Required Skills Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing preferred Three (3) plus years of acute emergency services or critical care nursing experience required Progressive leadership experience preferred Current licensure in Texas as a Registered Nurse Current BLS through American Heart Association required Board Certification in leadership, critical care, or emergency nursing preferred #J-18808-Ljbffr United Surgical Partners International, Inc
