Senior Accountant

LHH has partnered with a rapidly growing construction company that is seeking a Senior Accountant to join its finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys owning the full accounting cycle, partnering with operations, and contributing to a business undergoing significant growth and process transformation.

This role offers exposure well beyond traditional accounting responsibilities, including operational reporting, KPI development, systems implementation, forecasting, and business process improvement initiatives.

Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including general ledger, account reconciliations, accruals, journal entries, and month-end close activities.
• Support payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, billing, and cash management processes.
• Assist with project accounting, job costing, and revenue recognition for customer engagements.
• Monitor project performance and support operational reporting, contract tracking, backlog reporting, and financial analysis.
• Prepare monthly financial reporting packages and support management's review of business results.
• Develop and maintain KPI dashboards and operational performance metrics.
• Participate in budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow analysis initiatives.
• Support accounting process improvements and internal control enhancements.
• Play a key role in an upcoming accounting system implementation and ongoing technology initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with operations leadership, project managers, and executive management on financial and operational matters.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3+ years of accounting experience with strong knowledge of full-cycle accounting.
• Experience in construction, contracting, project-based services, engineering, industrial services, manufacturing, or similar environments is highly preferred.
• Exposure to job costing, project accounting, percentage-of-completion accounting, or labor-intensive businesses is a plus.
• Strong Excel skills and comfort working with accounting and ERP systems.
• Ability to work independently in a hands-on environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with both financial and operational personnel.
