Education & Career Coach

Monday-Friday 9am-2pm ($18-$20/hr)

Part Time (25hr/week)- Non Exempt

*In office position with requirement to travel with Manager approval. 

General: 

ICGC Social Services is seeking a passionate and talented Education & Career Coach to provide individualized coaching, mentoring, career guidance, and resource navigation to job seekers and young adults from low-income families throughout the Greater Cincinnati area. 

The Education & Career Coach will deliver services through two program tracks—View email address on ziprecruiter.com and View email address on ziprecruiter.com—designed to help participants overcome barriers, develop essential skills, secure sustainable employment and income, and achieve long-term financial stability and self-sufficiency.

Through View email address on ziprecruiter.com, the coach will support job seekers in strengthening their employability skills and pursuing meaningful career opportunities. Through View email address on ziprecruiter.com, the coach will guide young adults in exploring and accessing college education, post-secondary vocational training, career certification, and apprenticeship programs that lead to gainful employment.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in coaching, mentoring, workforce development, or career services and will be committed to empowering individuals to achieve their educational, professional, and financial goals.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct assessments to identify participant’s interests, skills, strengths as well as needs & barriers

• Help participants create life & career goals and make well-informed decisions through research 

• Enroll & manage qualified candidates in appropriate program track (View email address on ziprecruiter.com & View email address on ziprecruiter.com)

• Help participants find employment and facilitate job readiness training (as needed)

• Help with job search, resume, application, interview, and onboarding

• Maintain post-placement support to ensure employment retention

• Facilitate financial assistance for short-term needs through Financial Assistance

• Provide financial coaching, and empower clients to budget, save, and build wealth

• Remove barriers to employment through supportive services such as transportation, housing, child care, etc.

• Provide guidance in choosing higher education/training programs, facilitate enrollment, and track academic progress over the course of the program through monthly check-ins 

• Remove barriers to academic success through supportive services such as fulfilling training-related needs of uniforms, certification fees, textbooks, transportation, etc.

• Advocate for needed services & entitlements, and provide quality & cost-effective interventions

• Develop partnerships with local trade schools, apprenticeship programs, educational institutions, training hubs, industry experts/groups, local workforce development agencies, and employers

• Facilitate job development efforts at a program level by working collaboratively with local employers.

• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Other Responsibilities:

• Document client info in Salesforce and handle sensitive information in a confidential manner

• Participate in events to maximize marketing, networking & outreach efforts as needed

• Work collaboratively with the team to achieve project goals and share updates     

• Participate in staff meetings and maintain positive team relationships 

• Adhere to professional standards as outlined by ICGC protocols, rules & regulations

• Perform a range of associated administrative functions, as needed

• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualification: 

• Bachelor’s Degree (Social Work, Counseling, or Business Management).

• Bilingual Preferred (Arabic, Fulani, French, etc)

• 2 years of experience in social services.

• Financial and/or Life Coaching Certification is a plus.
