Forklift Mechanic II

GSE Mechanic IIAs a GSE Mechanic Level II, the primary responsibility will be repairing and maintaining both motorized and non-motorized Airline & Aircraft Ground Service Equipment such as tugs, belt loaders, pushbacks, trucks, and more. In this role, you will carry out advanced maintenance and repairs on a wide range of ground support equipment.Responsibilities:Service equipment with fuel, water, oil, hydraulic fluid and compressed airLog equipment numbers to be repaired with description of work to be done on each pieceInspect, maintain, troubleshoot, replace, repair, or modify:Engines and transmissionsElectrical systemsBrakes and braking systemsHydraulic and pneumatic systems on mobile lift and conveyor systemsBumpers and body workBag cart curtains & curtain rodsTowing hitches and towing barsUndercarriages, wheels and tiresBushings, shafts, end places, springs, coils, armatures, push rods, valves, manifolds, tubing, hose and wiringDiagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical, electrical and hydraulic issues in accordance with manufacturer guidelines, industry standards and safety regulationsRemove, test, repair or replace components and accessories such as carburetors, governors, air and oil cleaners, ignition points and auditory sensorsCheck and adjust tolerance of valves, bearings, cams, clutches and drive shaftsDiagnose problems using test equipment and applicable manualsOperate and test ground equipment for performance assessmentCompleted associated paperwork and track partsAdhere to all safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleaguesExemplify PrimeFlight customer service and safety standardsPerform any additional duties as assigned by managementQualifications:18 years of age or olderMust be legally authorized to work in the country of employment.3 years of verified experience requiredMust provide their own tools and toolboxDemonstrate regular, predictable attendance at job locationMust hold a valid driver's license.Communicate effectively in English (reading, writing, speaking)Ability to access and interpret information in print and electronically, including the use of electronic devices including IPads/Tablets, Computers, and Mobile DevicesEffectively communicate with colleagues and clients, both in-person and through electronic meansPass a background check and drug screenEligibility to acquire needed credentials and clearances (FAA, RAIC, TSA, Port Authority, U.S. Customs and U.S. Postal- as applicable).Airlines are 24/7, so we need our team members to be flexible to work various shifts including nights, weekends and holidaysPhysical Activity/Working Conditions May Include:Ability to lift up to 70 poundsProlonged standing and walking in an indoor/outdoor environment as applicableMust be able to reach with arms and grasp with handsMust be able to push, pullMust be able to crawl and crouch, at times, in confined tight spacesMust be able to bend, stretch, squat, kneelMust be able to climb and work at elevated heightsExposure to moderate and at times high noise levelsExposure to Biohazards and/or ChemicalsExposure to outdoor elementsBe able to hear and respond to the spoken voice and to audible alarmsTasks may involve repetitive motions of the arms, wrists, hands and/or fingersSpecific vision abilities required for this job include: Close vision (clear vision at 20 inches or less); distance vision (clear vision at 20 feet or more); peripheral vision (ability to observe an area that can be seen up and down or to the left and right while eyes are fixed on a given point); depth perception (three-dimensional vision, ability to judge distances and spatial relationships); ability to adjust focus (ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus)The pay rate listed on this post is what the company reasonably expects to pay for this position.
