Responsibilities

• Perform venipuncture and capillary draws on patients of all ages, including pediatric and geriatric populations, ensuring accuracy and patient safety.
• Explain procedures to patients to foster a trusting and comfortable environment.
• Verify patient demographic information and ensure proper labeling of specimens in accordance with established procedures.
• Prepare and process specimens for laboratory testing following quality and safety protocols.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of collected specimens and patient interactions.
• Adhere to all safety policies, dress code, and confidentiality requirements in a healthcare environment.
• Demonstrate professionalism and a customer-focused approach in all patient and client interactions.
• Travel between multiple healthcare sites as needed, maintaining punctuality and reliability.
• Support a positive team environment and collaborate with healthcare professionals and staff across various locations.

Required Skills

• Excellent phlebotomy skills, including experience with pediatric and geriatric patients.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to perform error-free work in a busy setting.
• Effective communication skills to explain procedures and provide excellent customer service.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Proficiency in data entry and specimen documentation.
• Physical ability to perform blood draws and handle specimens safely.

Additional Skills & Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required; medical assistant or paramedic training preferred.
• Phlebotomy certification is preferred and required in California, Nevada, and Washington.
• Minimum of three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
• Minimum of two years' experience working in a Patient Service Center environment is preferred.
• Reliable transportation with a valid driver's license and a clean driving record is required.
• Flexibility to work varied hours, including weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts, with ability to travel between multiple sites.
• Must demonstrate a commitment to safety, confidentiality, and professional appearance.
• Ability to adapt to changing schedules and handle a high-volume workload efficiently.
