Job Summary

As Warehouse Manager, you own full site performance for a brand new Middletown, NY warehouse. This is the top leadership seat at the site: you are accountable for financial, operational, and people performance across the entire building, and for building a leadership bench capable of running the site independently. This site does not operate a private delivery fleet.

Key Responsibilities

Financial & Operational Performance

·     Own site cost and service performance against KPI targets

·     Report site performance and variance to the VP of Operations, including recommended corrective action

Inventory Management

·     Own inventory accuracy across the site, including cycle count process and execution

·     Monitor inventory flows and investigate loss, shrinkage, and variance trends

Leadership & Team

·     Lead all site employees, including shift leads and supervisors

·     Build succession plans and leadership pipelines for key site roles

·     Hold site leaders accountable for team-level performance management

Continuous Improvement

·     Drive continuous improvement and cost-saving initiatives using LEAN and Kaizen principles

·     Partner with the VP of Operations to standardize operational practices across all sites in the organization

Safety, Quality & Compliance

·     Own site safety programs and OSHA compliance

·     Set and maintain QA standards for pick/pack accuracy and returns processing

Site Standards

·     Maintain the site in tour-ready condition for internal and external visitors

·     Develop and maintain documentation for key site processes, including training, preventative maintenance, and disaster recovery

Carrier Relationships

·     Serve as the primary point of contact for local small parcel and freight carrier representatives, managing service issues and escalations

Cross-Functional & Strategic Partnership

·     Represent Middletown in meetings and Ops Leadership initiatives

·     Maintain effective working relationships with HR, Finance, IT, and Sourcing

Expectations

·     Operate as an owner: set the site's operating rhythm rather than waiting for direction, and be the final word on day-to-day site decisions

·     Translate company strategy into site-level execution, and clearly explain the 'why' behind priorities to a diverse, multi-shift workforce

·     Communicate site performance, risk, and recommendations clearly and concisely to senior leadership, with data behind every recommendation

·     Build durable processes and leaders, not just short-term fixes; leave the site better equipped to run without you, not more dependent on you

·     Navigate difficult personnel and performance conversations directly and fairly, in partnership with HR partners

·     Balance competing priorities (cost, service, safety, compliance) without letting one erode the others
