Infusion RN Sr.- Plano East

Overview Texas Oncology is looking for an Infusion Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. This position will support the Infusion Department at our Plano East location. This is a full-time Monday - Friday (hours 8:30am-5pm) position with no weekends, call, or major holidays. Responsibilities Plan, implement, coordinate, evaluate and promote continuity of care consistent with established standards and practices. Assess patient/family needs and provide teaching and instructional material. Prepare and administer therapies under the direction and supervision of a physician. Administer medications and blood products using correct medication, dosage, route, time and technique. Obtain pre-authorization and appropriate consent forms prior to administration where applicable. Facilitate dose modification by assessing the patient, labs, protocol or treatment plan, calculating dose, and consulting the physician regarding dosage modifications and symptom management. Perform venipuncture, access implanted ports, and maintain central lines/catheter devices. Maintain accurate documentation of patient care and treatments provided. Apply knowledge of reimbursement procedures and charge capture. Qualifications Education/Training Level I – Graduate from an accredited nursing program; BSN preferred; RN license and current registration in practicing state; BLS certification; continuing education requirements; entry-level 0-3 years nursing experience; oncology experience strongly preferred. Level II – Minimum three (3) years of nursing experience; oncology experience strongly preferred. Level Senior – In addition to Levels I and II: minimum five (5) years nursing experience, including at least one year in oncology strongly preferred; oncology certification preferred.
