Grill Cook

As a Grill Cook at Palmer's, you will be responsible for executing our unique menu items to perfection on the grill station. Your primary focus will be on preparing and cooking a variety of meats, seafood, vegetables, and other grill items according to established recipes and specifications. You will work closely with the executive chef to ensure efficient operations and maintain high standards of food quality and presentation. Additionally, you will contribute to a positive work environment by demonstrating teamwork, professionalism, and a passion for culinary excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

• Complete daily inventory and write daily production lists for grill station
• Ensure consistency for all food produced meets portion guidelines and presentation standards
• Confirm all products are properly labeled including heating instructions, price and expiration date
• Provide support to the culinary team and other departments
• Ensure that all health & sanitation and safe work practices are followed at all times
• Recognize, resolve and/or report potential hazards
• Make sure all food prep areas, storage areas, walk-ins and freezers stay clean, organized and functioning properly at all times

Requirements:

• Prior experience working as a cook, particularly in a grill or similar environment
• Proficiency in grilling techniques and knowledge of different cooking methods for various types of meats, seafood, and vegetables
• Familiarity with food safety and sanitation guidelines, including proper handling and storage of raw ingredients and cooked food
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple orders simultaneously while maintaining quality and efficiency
• Attention to detail to ensure food is cooked to the correct temperature and presented according to established standards
• Physical stamina and endurance to stand for long periods and perform repetitive tasks
• Ability to lift and carry heavy items (50 pounds)
• Physically able and comfortable going in and out of walk-in coolers and freezers
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required in a restaurant setting.
• Willingness to learn and adapt to new recipes, techniques, and procedures

Joining as a Grill Cook, you will have the opportunity to grow and explore other roles in which you are interested at Palmer's Market. Cross training, and specialized experience will be possible over time as we learn more about your skills and interests!

Compensation: Hourly ($18.00 - $20.00)
