The Radiology Technologist Assistant assists the department with various clerical requirements. Assists with preparing rooms for patients, cleaning rooms after patients, stocking supplies and linen, transporting patients, answering phones, communicating with technologists and being an integral part of a positive patient experience.

General duties include:

• Transporting patients throughout radiology, including possibly to and from emergency department or inpatient units.
• Facilitating getting patients ready for examinations including dressing patients. Assisting patients off and on the examination tables
• Setting up rooms for examinations or procedures. Maintaining exam rooms and work areas in a neat and safe condition, to ensure the safety of the patients and employees
• Recognizing emergent situations and responding appropriately. Calling codes as needed.
• Identifying orders in epic, coordinating with technologist and radiologists when protocols are needed for examination. Checking current lab values on patients receiving contrast.
• Adhering to the hospital policy on body substance isolation, demonstrating safety for patients, staff and self as outlined in department and hospital protocols and regulatory guidelines, to ensure the safety of the patients and staff.
• Answering telephone, taking messages and returning calls when instructed.

Minimum qualifications include:

• High School Graduate or Equivalent.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) from American Heart Association.
