Senior Data Engineer

Job Title – Senior Data Engineer Location – Hybrid in Alexandria, VA – typically 3 days onsite / 2 days remote, with occasional 4-day onsite weeks based on business needs Must Have Skills: Strong experience with Master Data Management (MDM) tools Strong data engineering background spanning data warehouses, data lakes/lake architectures, ETL patterns, and data quality frameworks Proven ability to partner with multiple business and back-office functions, gather requirements, and advance enterprise data engineering capabilities Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to translate complex technical and data engineering concepts into plain English for business stakeholders Experience with Power BI and semantic modeling Experience operating in a government contracting or similarly compliance-driven environment, including data governance and risk considerations Responsibilities and Job Details: Help scale and modernize our client’s back-office data capabilities as the organization continues to grow. Serve in a highly visible, business-facing data engineering role that partners closely with stakeholders across multiple functions. Design, enhance, and support data engineering solutions involving data warehouses, data lakes, ETL processes, MDM, and data quality. Partner with business teams to understand requirements and translate them into effective, scalable data solutions. Leverage Power BI and semantic modeling to strengthen enterprise reporting, analytics, and overall data capabilities. Help establish and advance data quality, governance, and risk-management practices within a compliance-driven environment. Communicate technical concepts, recommendations, and data strategies effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences. Bring a proactive, can-do approach to identifying opportunities and driving measurable improvements across the organization’s data environment.
