Back Maintenance Technician (Manufacturing) HTI is assisting a global paper packaging manufacturer with their search for experienced Maintenance Technicians to join the team at their startup plant in Spartanburg, SC. Position Details Pay range: $31.00 – $36.00 / hour, depending on experience and education Work hours: 1st, 2nd, and 3rd shift schedules are available. Shift hours: 7am-3pm, 3pm-11pm, 11pm-7am (Mon-Fri). Location: Spartanburg, SC These are direct hire, full‑time roles. Summary You will play a key role in ensuring the reliability, safety, and performance of our production equipment. Your focus will be on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, and minimizing downtime to keep operations running efficiently. We are looking for proactive Maintenance Technicians who enjoy working in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment, value safety, and thrive in a team‑oriented culture. Key Responsibilities Perform preventative and reactive maintenance on plant and production equipment. Assist with the installation, calibration, and alignment of new equipment or automation systems. Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical issues to minimize production disruptions. Conduct routine inspections, clean and lubricate machinery, and replace worn parts (e.g., bearings, belts, gears) to prevent failures. Prioritize and complete maintenance tasks in line with the work schedule. Respond to breakdowns and emergency work orders promptly. Initiate, update, and close work orders using the maintenance system. Ensure accurate tracking and inventory of all parts and tools. Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and maintenance procedures. Participate in team meetings and safety activities. Work collaboratively with production, engineering, and operations teams. Qualifications Must have 3+ years of recent experience as a Maintenance Technician within the manufacturing industry, responsible for maintenance of production and packing machinery, conveyors, and other facility equipment. Must have a technical degree or certification in Industrial Maintenance or Mechatronics. Proven experience with mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems; PLC and electrical repair experience preferred. CMMS or EAM experience; intermediate computer and Microsoft Office skills. Strong troubleshooting and preventative maintenance skills. A commitment to safety and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures. Good communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships. Experience in the paper, paperboard, cardboard or other packaging manufacturing industry is a plus. Experience using lathes, milling machines, and welding equipment (TIG, MIG, etc.) is a plus. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
