Job Summary:


The Registered Nurse in the Operating Room will provide skilled nursing care in an ambulatory surgery center outpatient clinic and float to the Main OR as needed. This role requires expertise in both circulating and scrubbing during surgical procedures. The nurse will collaborate closely with the surgical team to ensure patient safety, effective treatment, and smooth operation flow. Strong communication and clinical skills are essential, along with a minimum of five years of nursing experience and current ACLS and BCLS certifications.

Responsibilities:

• Provide perioperative nursing care in the ambulatory surgery center and Main OR.
• Perform scrub nurse duties, including preparing and maintaining sterile fields.
• Circulate during surgical procedures to assist the surgical team and manage patient care.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team members to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Conduct patient assessments and monitor vital signs throughout procedures.
• Maintain accurate documentation using Epic electronic medical records.
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and infection control standards.
• Support patient preparation and postoperative care as required.

Required Skills & Certifications:

• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice.
• Minimum of 5 years nursing experience, preferably in perioperative or acute care settings.
• Current ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification.
• Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification.
• Proficient in surgical scrub and circulating nursing roles.
• Experience with Epic electronic health record system preferred.

Preferred Skills & Certifications:

• Experience working in ambulatory surgery centers and acute care hospitals.
• Familiarity with perioperative nursing standards and best practices.
• Ability to float between outpatient clinic and Main OR as needed.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective team collaboration.

Special Considerations:

• No on-call requirements.
• Must be willing and able to float between outpatient clinic and Main OR.
• RTO (Return to Office) restrictions must be included at time of submission.
• Scrub color for RNs in OR is navy blue.
• Facility uses Epic for charting.
• Parking options available with associated costs.

Scheduling:

• Work schedule and block shifts determined at manager's discretion.
• Weekend work is not required.
• Facility guarantees hours but may call off once per two-week pay period.
