Registered Nurse (RN) – Full-TimeThe primary responsibility of the Registered Nurse (RN) is to supervise and coordinate the day-to-day nursing activities of the facility during the assigned tour of duty. This position ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local standards, regulations, and guidelines governing skilled nursing facilities, and works under the direction of the Director of Nursing (DON) and/or Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to ensure the highest level of quality resident care.Administrative FunctionsAssist the DON/ADON in directing daily nursing operations in compliance with regulatory requirementsParticipate in developing, maintaining, and updating nursing policies and proceduresEnsure nursing reference materials and procedure manuals are current and accessibleMonitor compliance with nursing service policies and proceduresPrepare written and oral reports regarding nursing operationsAssist with discharge planning and coordination of nursing servicesParticipate in quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) initiativesParticipate in facility surveys and audits conducted by regulatory agenciesMaintain confidentiality of resident and facility information and report unauthorized accessCommittee FunctionsAttend and participate in interdisciplinary committee meetings as assigned (e.g., Infection Control, QAA, Pharmacy)Assist in preparing reports and presenting information to committeesParticipate in care plan and discharge planning meetingsPersonnel FunctionsEnsure adequate staffing of licensed nurses and CNAs for assigned shiftDelegate duties appropriately and supervise nursing staffConduct rounds to ensure care is delivered according to standardsMonitor attendance and report staffing concernsParticipate in performance evaluations and disciplinary processesFoster teamwork, professionalism, and a positive work environmentReport suspected fraud, abuse, or safety concerns promptlyNursing Care FunctionsProvide direct nursing care as requiredPerform resident assessments and monitor changes in conditionAdminister medications and treatments per physician ordersEnsure accurate documentation of nursing care and resident responsesCoordinate care with physicians, families, and interdisciplinary team membersRespond to emergencies and changes in resident statusEnsure medication administration and treatment schedules are followedMonitor infection control practices and resident safetyStaff DevelopmentParticipate in and support in-service education and training programsAssist with orientation and supervision of nurse aide traineesMaintain required continuing education and licensureSafety and Infection ControlEnforce safety, sanitation, and infection control policiesEnsure proper use of PPE and adherence to exposure protocolsParticipate in emergency preparedness, fire drills, and disaster responseReport hazardous conditions and safety violationsCare Planning & AssessmentParticipate in resident assessments, care plans, and MDS processesEnsure nursing staff follows resident care plansReview documentation to ensure compliance and quality careSupervisory ResponsibilitiesThis position assists with the overall supervision and management of nursing staff and is delegated administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability for assigned duties.QualificationsEducation & ExperienceGraduate of an accredited nursing programMinimum of 2 years RN experience, preferably in a skilled nursing or long-term care settingTraining in rehabilitative and restorative nursing practices preferredLicensure & CertificationsCurrent, active, and unencumbered California RN licenseCurrent CPR certificationKnowledge and experience with PointClickCare (PCC) preferredSkills & AbilitiesStrong leadership, clinical judgment, and decision-making skillsExcellent communication and interpersonal skillsAbility to work effectively with residents, families, staff, and regulatory agenciesAbility to remain calm under pressure and manage multiple prioritiesPhysical DemandsAbility to move throughout the facility during the workdayAbility to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 25 lbs routinely and more with assistanceAbility to cope with emotional and physical demands of resident careAbility to assist in emergency evacuations if necessaryWork EnvironmentSkilled Nursing Facility settingExposure to infectious diseases, chemicals, and medical equipmentFrequent interaction with residents, families, staff, and healthcare professionalsWe are an equal opportunity employer.
