Revenue Cycle Manager

Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced Revenue Cycle Manager to lead and grow our billing, coding, and collections operations. This individual will oversee day-to-day revenue cycle performance, manage a team of biller/coders and collections specialists, and build the infrastructure needed to scale the team as the organization grows. Experience with personal injury (PI) billing and liens is a strong plus, given our client mix. The ideal candidate combines hands-on healthcare revenue cycle expertise with proven people management skills and the ability to design scalable processes, workflows, and staffing models. This is a fully on-site position, and the Revenue Cycle Manager will report directly to the CEO, working closely with executive leadership to align revenue cycle strategy with overall business goals. Responsibilities: Directly manage, coach, and develop a team of medical billers, coders, and collections specialists Set individual and team performance goals; conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and coaching sessions Recruit, onboard, and train new team members as the department scales Build out reporting structures, team leads, and workflows to support growth from a small team to a larger, multi-tier department Revenue Cycle Operations Oversee the full revenue cycle: charge entry, coding accuracy, claims submission, payment posting, denials management, and collections Monitor and improve key metrics (days in A/R, denial rates, clean claim rate, net collection rate, cash flow) Identify bottlenecks and implement process improvements across the billing and collections workflow Ensure compliance with payer requirements, coding guidelines (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS), and applicable healthcare regulations (HIPAA, etc.) Personal Injury / Lien-Based Billing (Preferred) Manage or oversee PI billing processes, including lien tracking, attorney communication, and settlement-based reimbursement timelines Navigate the unique documentation and follow-up requirements of PI claims versus traditional payer claims Scaling & Process Development Develop and document standard operating procedures (SOPs) for billing, coding, and collections functions Evaluate and recommend billing software, automation tools, and workflow systems to support growth Partner with leadership on capacity planning and headcount forecasting as claim volume increases Build a scalable org structure (e.g., team leads, specialization by payer type or claim type) to support future growth Cross-Functional Collaboration Partner with clinical, front-office, and finance teams to resolve upstream issues affecting billing accuracy Provide regular reporting and insights to leadership (and the CEO) on revenue cycle KPIs and team performance Requirements 5+ years of experience in healthcare revenue cycle management, medical billing, or coding 2+ years of experience directly managing a billing, coding, and/or collections team Strong working knowledge of medical billing/coding (ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS) and payer claim requirements Experience with EHR/practice management and billing software (e.g., Epic, Athenahealth, Kareo, AdvancedMD, or similar) Demonstrated ability to build, document, and improve processes/SOPs Strong analytical skills with experience tracking and improving revenue cycle KPIs Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills Ability to work on-site full-time Preferred: Experience with personal injury billing, liens, and attorney-based reimbursement processes Experience scaling a billing/collections team (growing headcount, building org structure) Certification such as CPC, CPB, CRCR, or CMRS Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business, or related field (or equivalent experience) Why You'll Love Working with Us: A growing company with opportunities to advance your career Collaborative and mission-driven team focused on patient outcomes A modern work environment that values initiative and accountability A unique role at the intersection of legal and healthcare, helping patients get the care they deserve Direct visibility and access to executive leadership, with real influence over how the department is built and scaled The satisfaction of leading a team that helps bring closure to cases while ensuring financial processes run smoothly #J-18808-Ljbffr
