Custodian

Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team at Orange County High. This full-time position involves maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic, excellent organizational skills, and a commitment to upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation.

Responsibilities
- Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and sanitizing classrooms, hallways, restrooms, and common areas.
- Ensure all cleaning supplies and equipment are used safely and effectively.
- Conduct regular inspections of facilities to identify maintenance needs and report issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Set up and break down furniture and equipment for school events, meetings, and activities.
- Maintain an inventory of cleaning supplies and request replenishments as necessary.
- Follow established safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.
- Assist with minor repairs and maintenance tasks as needed.
- Collaborate with other staff members to ensure the overall cleanliness and functionality of the school environment.
- Adhere to all school policies and procedures, promoting a positive and respectful atmosphere.

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous custodial or janitorial experience preferred, but not required.
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment, and safety practices.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects, as well as perform physical tasks associated with cleaning and maintenance.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed for special events or emergencies.
- Background check required prior to employment.
