## LPN - South OKC/Freestanding ED - Mid 1-1 - PRNApplylocations: South OKC Emergency Room and Urgent Caretime type: Part timeposted on: Posted Todayjob requisition id: R0064142## **Position Title:**LPN - South OKC/Freestanding ED - Mid 1-1 - PRN## **Department:**SOKC Emergency Department## **Job Description:****Job Profile Summary**Under general supervision, provides preventative and health care to an assigned group of patients or clients in the OU Health facility.**Essential Responsibilities***Responsibilities listed in this section are core to the position. Inability to perform these responsibilities with or without an accommodation may result in disqualification from the position.** Assists with the nursing assessment through data collection, observation, and obtainment of vital signs on assigned patients or clients.* Provides care according to an established nursing plan.* Observes changes in patient’s condition and notify supervisory personnel if significant changes occur.* Provides routine ostomy care, nasogastric tube placement and feeding and placement, and discontinuing of oral-gastric tube. Initiates and monitors oxygen therapy according to physician orders or unit protocol.* Suctions and cleans tracheotomy sites.* May administer oral, intravenous, intra-muscular, intra-dermal, subcutaneous, sub-lingual, vaginal, rectal, and topical medications.* Prepares patients for routine physical examinations and assist the physician during examinations.* An LPN can function in the role of Surgical Tech if position open is in the operating room.**General Responsibilities*** Performs other duties as assigned.**Education Requirements*** HS Diploma or GED required.* Completion of education requirements for NCLEX-PN examination.**Experience Requirements*** No experience required.**License/Certification/Registration Requirements*** Current Basic Life Support issued by the American Heart Association required upon hire.* Current LPN License issued by the Oklahoma State Board of Nursing OR a current multistate LPN License (eNLC) required.**Knowledge/Skills/Abilities*** Knowledge of professional nursing theories, practices, techniques, and procedures.* Ability to organize, coordinate, plan, and evaluate nursing needs of assigned patients.* Must be knowledgeable about operating room techniques if applying for a surgery position.* Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills.## **Current OU Health Employees - Please click** HERE **to login.**## **OU Health is an equal opportunity employer.
