JMT is seeking an entry‑level Project Controls Intern that is a junior or senior working towards their engineering or construction management degree. The position is in Hunt Valley, Maryland and the candidate will be responsible for monitoring and forecasting project budgets, contracting costs, and actual money spent. They will also assist in the development of baseline schedules, perform periodic updates and report on earned value. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assist with preparing detailed project schedules and cost loaded Assist construction management team including materials person, controls, civil inspectors, mechanical inspectors, safety inspections, and E/I inspectors. Update, maintain, and analyze project commitments and expenditures Track and distribute project documents Regularly interface with Project Management and other departments Travel to jobsites as necessary NONESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Perform other related duties as assigned Required Skills Knowledge of the principles of project controls, cost estimating, progress measurement, scheduling and contract administration General knowledge of software applications such as spreadsheets, word processing, databases, etc. Must have proven abilities and skills in the following: communication (verbal and written), planning, organization and delegation Required Experience Junior or Senior working towards their Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management or other applicable degree Coursework in related field preferred Previous internship experience preferred WORKING CONDITIONS Work is performed in a general office environment with occasional site visits. While the office environment is generally sedentary in nature, field visits will require proper personal protection including but not limited to hard‑hat, safety glasses and proper shoes/boots.
