Project Safety Coordinator

Safety Worxs is seeking a Project Safety Coordinator (PSC) for a parking garage project in Houston, TX. The PSC is responsible for leading and managing all construction safety activities from project commencement through substantial completion. Must have 7 years of specific building construction and an OSHA 500 or 502 to be considered. This role ensures full compliance with federal, state, and project-specific safety standards while fostering a proactive, positive safety culture. The PSC will remain active on the project until the ODR provides written concurrence for removal. Responsibilities Administer and oversee the project’s safety program throughout the full construction lifecycle Implement and manage construction safety processes, including hazard identification, mitigation, and routine field inspections Conduct incident investigations and prepare documentation with preventive recommendations Provide documented continuing education and practical training in Fall Protection, Scaffolds, Excavation & Trenching, Confined Space, Crane/Equipment Operations, Electrical Safety, Incident Investigation, Review and approve safety method statements and procedures related to high-hazard activities Maintain accurate safety records, compliance documentation, and training evidence Serve as a liaison with project leadership for all safety matters Ensure subcontractors adhere to project safety standards and regulatory requirements Qualifications: 7+ years building construction safe ty, including: 5+ years in construction safety process management; or 4-year safety degree and 3+ years of actual field safety experienc e. ** Experience must be building construction only (General Industry or specialty-only backgrounds will not qualify) Must possess OSHA 500 (Construction Industry Trainer) OR OSHA 502 (Trainer Update ).OSHA 10 or 30 and OSHA 51 0 do no t satisfy the training requirement. Preferred: CSP, CHST, or other BCSP certifications (may count toward experience) There is not per diem, so local candidate preferred.
