Customs Analyst Detroit, MI

Position: Customs Analyst - Detroit, MI We are seeking a skilled Customs Analyst with extensive experience in import/export operations, shipment documentation, and data analysis. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in supply chain processes within the automotive industry. Responsibilities: Gather and merge daily broker files and ACE data for reporting purposes, supporting finance operations and eventually taking over the process. Conduct monthly reporting and data analysis to identify duty spikes and investigate discrepancies. Perform data mining for escalations and specific requests from various departments, including sales and purchasing. Investigate data accuracy, duty recovery opportunities, and documentation issues, coordinating with brokers and internal teams. Manage post-entry/duty recovery efforts, monitor filings, and ensure accurate duty refunds allocation. Create periodic reports and presentations for internal meetings and reviews. Engage in continuous process improvement and other activities as assigned. Qualifications: 5-10 years of import/export experience with global shipments. Strong knowledge of shipment/entry documentation, record keeping, and classification/tariffs. Experience with FTA/COO certificates and eligibility. Proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, Power BI, and Power Query. Detail-oriented with excellent follow-up skills. Education & Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business Administration, or related field. Customs-related certifications are a plus.
