Full-Time OphthalmologistThe Mount Sinai Health System is currently seeking a Full-Time Ophthalmologist to join its multi-specialty practice in Long Island!The multi-specialty group has four facilities located in Huntington, Nesconset, Bayshore and Commack. This role will be located in Huntington, at a new state-of-the-art facility which opened in the summer of 2018. Long Island is full of beautiful communities with excellent school districts, art museums, restaurants, and concert venues. Additionally, Manhattan is only a short drive or train ride away. Mount Sinai Doctors Long Island offers comprehensive care through its sites and is comprised of 77 physicians representing almost every medical and surgical specialty. Additionally, this site has a full imaging center, state-of-the-art accredited office endoscopy center, and on-site Laboratory, as well as a comprehensive support team, including RN's and MA's.The ideal candidates will play an instrumental role in ensuring excellent patient care, quality outcomes, and satisfaction. We pursue all dimensions of these three components, considering them inseparable elements of the art and science of medicine.ResponsibilitiesDiagnose and treat wide range of eye diseases and conditionsPerforming necessary surgical procedures, including examinations both before and after surgery, as well as instructing patient on self-care to improve recoveryProvide health education and counseling and establish preventive health practicesInitiate laboratory, radiology, and pathology exams and specialty consults as necessaryExercise judgment in establishing priorities of medical care and consult with and refer to appropriate specialist in regards to high risk or complex patientsFosters a professional, collaborative work environment with all team members and colleaguesParticipation in Quality Improvement (CQI) program and clinical projects for practice improvement when requested.Provide case management with other health care team membersQualificationsMedical Degree from an Accredited UniversityAbility to obtain a New York licenseBoard Certification or Board Eligible in OphthalmologyActive DEA license and BLS and ACLS certificationDemonstrated professional competence and integrity and ethical conduct of practiceExceptional verbal and written communication skills, bedside manner and organizational skillsPatient focused and committed to providing outstanding and compassionate care and service to all patientsA strong work ethic and desire to participate in team-oriented, performance-driven Health SystemStrong computer skills and EMR knowledgeCompensation range from 300K to 400K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)Salary Disclosure Information: Mount Sinai Health System provides a salary range to comply with the New York City law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements.
