Contract | 13-Week Travel Assignment | Full-Time | Onsite | 4 x 10-Hour Shifts, Tuesday – Friday, 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM | Projected Start: 07/20/2026

Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for cardiovascular (open-heart) surgical cases, with the ability to support the general OR as needed.
• Utilize the nursing process — assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned patients in the operating room setting.
• Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness.
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice.
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identify issues and available resources.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Texas or a compact state license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required — American Heart Association (AHA) only.
• Minimum of 2 years of CVOR (cardiovascular operating room) experience.
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records charting.
• Ability to perform in cardiovascular open-heart cases and support general OR functions as needed.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
• Experience making appropriate assignments and delegating to other care providers in a clinical OR environment.
