Laboratory - Medical Lab Technician

Laboratory TechnologistThe Laboratory Technologist is responsible for performing a range of laboratory tests and accurately reporting results to health care providers for the diagnosis, treatment, and monitoring of diseases. This role requires adherence to laboratory protocols and procedures across various areas including hematology, bacteriology, and routine chemistry, among others. The technologist will also support the department by contributing to quality control, preventive maintenance, and developing new laboratory procedures as required.ResponsibilitiesPerform laboratory tests in all assigned areas according to established protocols.Conduct phlebotomies including arterial puncture, capillary punctures, and venipunctures.Process specimens following technical knowledge and established protocols.Calibrate and maintain laboratory instruments to ensure proper functioning.Validate and report test results accurately and in a timely manner.Assist in maintaining and developing laboratory policy and procedural manuals.Participate in staff orientation and training of new employees and students.Conduct quality control and preventive maintenance, troubleshooting as necessary.Adhere to safety practices involving biohazards and infection control.Promote effective teamwork and collaboration within the department.Required Experience / Certifications / LicensureAssociate's or Bachelor's degree in Medical Technology or a related area from an accredited college or university.Certification or eligibility as a Medical Technologist (MT) or Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) is required.Knowledge of laboratory principles, methods, equipment, and techniques.Effective verbal and written communication skills.ScheduleThis position is for the evening shift.Assignment DurationThis is a 13-week contract position.Why ARMStaffing?At ARMStaffing, we take care of our employees!
