HealthWorks for Northern Virginia is a non-profit Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) serving the medically underserved and uninsured populations of Northern Virginia. Conduct comprehensive GYN assessments and exams. Diagnose and manage acute and chronic GYN conditions. Order and interpret labs, imaging, and diagnostic studies. Prescribe medications and treatments within your scope. Collaborate closely with physicians, nurses, and support staff. Educate and counsel patients on women's health, prevention, and wellness.

Position requirements - qualifications and education requirement: Must be a graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program. 3+ years of experience in Gynecology or Women's Health (required). Must have a valid Commonwealth of Virginia Nurse Practitioner license. Must be Board Certified or Board eligible. If Board eligible, must meet certification requirements within one (1) year of completing residency training program. Must maintain current DEA certification. Knowledge, skills, and abilities: Demonstrated ability to be a team player. Strong track record of positive peer, physician, administrative and patient relationships. Possesses cultural sensitivity and competence. Demonstrates excellent verbal and written communication skills. Well organized and able to handle conflicts and crisis in a professional manner. Knowledge of comprehensive health programs, public health principles, preventive care recommendations, clinical practice guidelines and quality improvement. Always maintains complete confidentiality and exercises discretion. Exhibits professionalism consistent with HW standards and policies regarding performance, behavior, and appearance. Demonstrates flexibility, open mindedness, and versatility in adjusting to changing environments and requirements as necessary. Commits to continually improving his/her skills through participation in educational opportunities whether offered on the job, within, or outside of the facility, to increase knowledge of work-related issues. Always maintains a positive attitude when working with provider and willingly assists provider as needed in contributing to HW achieving maximum customer satisfaction.
