Description

American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist for a hospital OR position requiring NBSTSA certification and 1+ years of experience, with first-time travelers welcome.

Details

• Level II Trauma Center and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center with 629 staffed beds
• Day shift, 4x10 hour schedule from 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM
• May float to outpatient surgical center
• On-call required 1x per week with 1 weekend on-call per 6 week schedule
• 1:1 patient ratios
• Epic EMR used for charting
• Teaching hospital setting

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience required
• NBSTSA certification required
• BLS certification required
• Compact nursing license must be in hand at time of submission
• License required if applicable
• Teaching hospital experience preferred
• Trauma Level I and Level II experience preferred
• Neuro surgical skills are a hardstop requirement
• Experience with general surgery, gynecology, orthopedic, neuro, urology, and ENT procedures
• Familiarity with case carts, crash carts, and universal protocol time out procedures

Additional Information

• Perform surgical technologist duties across multiple specialties including general surgery, gynecology, orthopedics, neuro, urology, and plastics
• Support aseptic technique, equipment documentation, laser safety, and specimen handling protocols
• Travelers may be expected to float between sister facilities near the contracted location
• First-time travelers will be considered for this position
• Candidates must commit to working 3 of the 5 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• All RTO and scheduling requests must be submitted upfront; post-submittal RTO requests may not be granted
• Former Providence permanent employees must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler and must not reside within 50 miles of the facility
• Local candidates accepted at a lower bill rate within a 50 mile radius
• Two supervisory references required covering 1 year of employment within the last 3 years
• No fee for parking
