CT/X-Ray Technologist

Location: New Rochelle, New York Department: MNR Interventional Radiology Shift: Night shift (12 AM – 8 AM), varying scheduled hours Schedule: Full‑time or part‑time CT/X‑Ray Technologists (overnight shift) Job Summary Under the direction of the chief technologist, the technologist performs catheterization or MRI procedures at a technical level that does not require constant supervision. The role requires independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative to apply ionizing radiation for imaging diagnosis and to assume responsibility for designated areas or procedures as required. The technologist assigns work to other staff technologists. Essential Functions Patient and room preparation: enter patient data into RIS and other computer systems; place the patient accurately on the scan table; obtain a scout image; ensure error‑free data entry; achieve room turnaround time of 5 minutes after the previous case. Direct involvement during procedures: assist the radiologist during biopsy procedures, monitor the progression of the biopsy in the control room, operate the injector when necessary, maintain sterile technique, and remain constantly aware of procedural progression. Obtain cross‑sectional images: set protocols and sequences to obtain high‑quality diagnostic images; maintain a retake rate of less than 3percent due to improper settings or other controllable factors. Education and Requirements High School Diploma, GED, or college—preferred. Graduate of a two‑year radiological technologist program. Registered with the American Registry of Radiological Technologists (ARRT). Licensed by the State of New York. Prior work experience, preferably in a hospital environment.
