Junior Staff Accountant

Junior Staff Accountant (Events & Operations) This is an hourly, non-exempt role. Job Summary We are conducting a search on behalf of a client to identify a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Staff Accountant to support accounting operations across event-driven projects. This role plays a key part in managing financial transactions, supporting month-end close, and ensuring accurate financial reporting for multiple engagements. The ideal candidate is a self-starter who thrives in fast-paced environments, enjoys working cross-functionally, and can balance multiple priorities effectively. Key Responsibilities Manage financial disbursements including wires, cash requests, and payments related to project or event settlements Review and reconcile financial settlements immediately following project completion Prepare project/event profit & loss (P&L) statements and related journal entries Monitor financial reports for accuracy and reasonableness Ensure timely closure and reconciliation of projects within established timelines Track and process receivables, payables, and collections to ensure accuracy and timeliness Maintain general ledger (G/L) activity for assigned projects Prepare and maintain balance sheet accounts and reconciliations Prepare and post journal entries as part of the month-end close process Assist with financial reporting, audits, and ad hoc projects as needed Qualifications Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Bachelor’s preferred) 3–5 years of relevant accounting or finance experience Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment Experience with project-based or operational accounting preferred Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets (advanced Excel strongly preferred) Experience with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle or similar) is a plus Project management experience is a plus Work Environment & Expectations Ability to work in dynamic, high-energy environments when required Willingness to travel occasionally for project or on-site support Flexibility to work extended hours, including evenings or weekends during peak periods such as month-end close Strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and follow through on multiple deadlines Positive communication style and ability to collaborate across teams #J-18808-Ljbffr Thunderhawk Technology Partners
