Laboratory Technician - Water & Wastewater Testing

Job Description

Pay: $22.00- $24.00 per hour DOE
Qualifications:

• Minimum 1 year of experience in an analytical or environmental laboratory
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record
• Familiarity with EPA and Standard Methods for Water and Wastewater analyses
• Understanding of Mississippi regulatory quality control requirements
• Ability to analyze laboratory data and make sound operational decisions
• Ability to prepare chemical solutions and perform standard chemical, mathematical, and statistical calculations
• Proficiency with Windows OS, Microsoft Office Suite, and Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS)
• Strong teamwork and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Associate's degree in Chemistry, Biology, or related field preferred
• Advanced knowledge of environmental laboratory procedures, equipment, and terminology
• Experience with analytical instrumentation such as IC, TOC analyzers, and ICP equipment
• Knowledge of chemical, physical, and microbiological analysis of water and wastewater
• Strong listening and communication skills

Responsibilities:

• Perform chemical, bacteriological, and physical laboratory testing for water recycling operations
• Prepare analytical standards, reagents, and chemical solutions
• Review and maintain laboratory procedures and analytical methods
• Operate, calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation
• Support laboratory quality assurance, safety, and training programs
• Coordinate with other departments on special projects as needed
• Train operations personnel on field equipment, analytical methods, and quality control procedures
• Complete additional laboratory duties as assigned

Additional Information:

• Alternating weekends and holiday rotation required
• Position includes safety-sensitive work responsibilities
• Must be able to work in laboratory and operational environments
