Job Opportunity: Medical Director of Obstetrics and Gynecology

Our organization is in search of a dedicated Medical Director for Obstetrics and Gynecology to oversee Ambulatory Services at our esteemed hospital. Established in 1852, our facility is a 1,134-bed tertiary-care teaching institution recognized globally for its outstanding clinical services. According to the U.S. News & World Report's "Best Hospitals" rankings, we have received top honors and are nationally acknowledged in 11 specialties. Our hospital consistently achieves Magnet status for nursing excellence and is the sole medical center in New York State to hold the Disease-Specific Care Comprehensive Stroke Center Certification from The Joint Commission. Additionally, we have been awarded a Health Care Innovation Award from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services for launching New York City's first geriatric emergency department, and our inpatient transfer service is among the largest and most advanced in the city.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure adherence to New York State Prenatal Care Regulations.
• Maintain compliance with Medicare Teaching Physicians rules, focusing on the supervisory role of attending physicians in teaching cases.
• Collaborate with Ambulatory Care Medical Directors to align Obstetrical Care across all sites within our OBGYN Health System.
• Oversee and manage the Performance Improvement program, including quality improvement metrics that reflect workflows at our hospital.
• Ensure compliance with scope of practice guidelines and competency metrics for all obstetrical providers, including physicians, midwives, physician assistants, and nurse practitioners.
• Work closely with residency and fellowship program directors to meet educational goals and metrics.
• Provide medical care in a high-functioning environment.
• Leverage the educational, research, and clinical resources of a nationally ranked medical school.
• Utilize a fully integrated Electronic Health Record system.

Qualifications

• Medical Degree from an accredited institution.
• Valid New York Medical License.
• Board Certification in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Compensation Details

The salary range for this position is between $310,000 and $367,000, excluding bonuses and incentive compensation or benefits. This range is provided to comply with New York City’s Salary Transparency law. Actual salaries may vary based on factors such as experience, specialties, historical productivity, and community needs. Therefore, the final salary may be closer to either end of the range or, in some cases, may fall outside of it.
