Professional DriverManatt's Professional Driver (PD) is committed to safely doing everything we do better than anyone else. In addition, the Manatt's PD is accountable for the performance and operation of the tractor trailer combination, including its condition and cleanliness. The Professional Driver will operate a truck equipped with a tanker to transport and deliver dry bulk cement and fertilizer, fly ash, or sandblasting sand to customers (plants).FamilyServes as a standard bearer for Manatt's mission to safely do everything we do better than anyone else.Promotes, lives, and exemplifies Manatt's values: Family, Excellence and Human Potential.Supports, adheres to, and vocalizes company safety standards and policies.Participates in clear and regular two-way communications with dispatchers/truck foreman after assigned task is complete.Supports, assists, and encourages teammates at the jobsite, and elsewhere, to create a safe and positive working environment.Reports to supervisor at the end of the shift to leave all necessary information and paperwork, as well as receive instructions for the next day's assignments.ExcellenceEnsures they are using their time efficiently and effectively.Ensures assigned equipment meets company efficiency, safety, and excellence standards.Inspects assigned truck equipment and supplies such as tires, lights, brakes gas, diesel, oil, water, and all other fluid levels using pre and post trip inspections, through coordination with management, shop maintenance personnel to uphold Manatt's standards.Ensures the Tanker follows state and federal regulations, including maintenance of pre and post trip inspection reports, current registration, and insurance card, and performs preventative maintenance service and minor repairs on truck.Drives truck into position under the loading chute on scale unless loading from storage bins or portable belt.Determines that valves are closed on bottom of the trailer and ready to receive the load.Drives truck forward as directed after being loaded.Demonstrates proper tablet, XBE and video camera usage (ticket assignments, GPS navigation, driver tagged events, etc).Follows best practices at our ready-mix plants which include:Obey posted speed limit. (if not posted, 10 mph is a safe operating speed).Proper PPE to be worn (hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest where plant managers require it) even when turning in tickets at the end of the day.Loader has right away at all times.All tickets need to be turned into manager/batch person before unloading to receive key and have the load accepted.Fill pipe should be locked backed up once unloading is completed.Stay outside of truck when unloading. Need to be able to react quickly in the event something happens.Safety straps should also be placed on hoses when unloading, insurance if\when cam locks go bad.Checks the condition of the load including legal axle weight limits.Signs and receives bill of lading.Closes top hatch immediately using the ladders provided by the loading terminals after reaching a safe location to do so.Safely drives the truck to the designated location for unloading.Correctly connects hoses to pneumatic blower on truck and correct delivery pipe on the plant.Checks ticket for correct product being delivered into the plant.Follows instructions on side of tanker for proper unloading procedures.Obtains customer signature on receipt of delivery, if required by customer.Records invoice number and weight of load on timecard and delivers ticket to customer or proper plant Personnel.Operates in a safe manner and abides with traffic laws, rules, and regulations of State and Federal Departments of Transportation, laws governing hazardous materials and placards, Occupational Safety and Health Administration rules and regulations and company rules/safety directives.Keeps the interior and exterior of the cab clean in alignment with the Manatt's standard of excellence.Human PotentialCommits to continuous personal improvements on the path towards being best self.Listens and coordinates with team members and available resources to ensure all can be their best self, analyzes and resolves work obstacles and assists in solving problems.Participates with management to set and adhere to personal goals in line with Manatt's core values.Assists and encourages all team members on their journey of continuous growth.Open minded and willingness to adapt to the technological changes in an evolving industry.Provides customer feedback and their own personal observations of the delivery process in a constructive manner with the goal of improving the customer experience.Positively represents and promotes Manatt's at jobsites and elsewhere, to customers, potential customers, and potential team members.QualificationsEducation and ExperienceHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three years customer service-related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Knowledge, Skills and AbilityMechanical inclined to learn functions of ready-mix truck components including electrical, pneumatics, compressed air, water systems, and computerized mixer controls.Language SkillsAbility to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, batching and dispatching programs, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or team members.Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentages to develop and interpret bar graphs.Reasoning AbilityAbility to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.Certificates, Licenses, RegistrationsValid Class A with airbrakes endorsement. Current IDOT Physical required.Other QualificationsAcceptable driving recordExcellent work ethic.Ability to work seasonally.
