We are hiring for a Director of Nursing  in Van Wert, OH for Woodlands Grove Recovery Campus.

Job Overview
The Director of Nursing is responsible for all administrative duties within their division, including the management of Nurse Managers, RNs, and LPNs. Responsibilities include hiring, training, and supervision of quality nursing staff to ensure their department provides medical services to our clients. As an RN, the Director of Nursing may need to provide care to clients based on individualized needs, according to dependent and independent nursing functions and conformance with recognized nursing techniques and established standards. The DON will perform their duties according to their defined scope of practice for their licensing and training while keeping the safe care of their patients as top priority. The DON will help treat clients’ needs and promote their health while working as part of a treatment team under the direction of the attending physician.

Duties

• Perform all nursing duties in accordance with the state law and licensing.
• Works as part of a treatment team, always communicating and working with LPNs, RNs, and other medical and clinical staff as needed.
• Participates in all applicable training, drills, and meetings. This includes CEUs needed to keep licensure up to date and will give evidence of to Human Resources for filing.
• Assess, observe, and evaluate the physical and emotional status and provide care as needed.
• Administer medications.
• Document all assessments and medications administered in EMR, and any paper chart as required.
• Perform, evaluate, and document medical tests and procedures as ordered.
• Properly write and reconcile all medication ordered.
• Follows and educates on infection control and maintains Infection Control Log.
• Monitor patient progress and identify any changes in status, act on those changes to ensure patient comfort and safety.
• Assist physicians and all healthcare professionals caring for patients, always giving a completed and thorough report on patient status.
• Educate patients and their families as needed.
• Communicate with all staff, patients, and families with excellent verbal and written skills.
• Consistently seek educational tools to broaden knowledge base.
• Will handle and be knowledgeable of all medical equipment utilized in the care of the patient.
• Is punctual and dependent on assigned/confirmed shifts.
• Always follow company policies and procedures.
• Any other tasks assigned by your supervisor within scope of practice.

Experience

• Proven experience in management roles within healthcare or educational administration, preferably in nursing or related fields.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire teams, foster collaboration, and promote professional development.
• Knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation processes, and quality assurance standards.
