This position is for a Non-certified technician (NCT) or Limited Medical Radiology Technician (LMRT) and will report to the Site Managing Physician(s). The NCT or LMRT will be tasked with providing professional clinical care for all patients following established standards and practices and will work under direct supervision of the physician, including front office support as needed. All matters outside of their scope of duties will be deferred to the physician and/or Site Manager.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Performs timely and quality radiology procedures for subsequent evaluation and treatment by attending physician
• Performs quality control checks/audits on radiologic equipment
• A variety of general administrative support duties associated with the patient intake process and performs routine duties within the clinic.
• Performs patient check-in at the time of visit and completes all paperwork necessary to ensure the admitting process is efficient and all clinic and regulatory policies are in compliance.
• Answers phone calls and directs them appropriately.
• Schedules appointments according to office guidelines.
• Obtains accurate patient and insurance information, collecting copays and deductible amounts.
• Copies/scans patient access related hard copy materials (e.g. ID, referrals, insurance cards, etc.) into the correct location in the electronic medical record.
• Prepares charts for patient appointments and ensures all necessary information is complete.
• Conducts all functions associated with patient check-out including pricing services, collecting patient responsibility payments and scheduling follow-up appointments.
• Performs duties involving record filing and retrieval and assisting with the filing of registration documentation in electronic medical records.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of Radiology Technician program as applicable
• Radiology license
• Current CPR certification
• Minimum of one-year clinical experience preferred
• Working knowledge of medical terminology
• Demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to use a computer and enter data in a medical management application

EXPERIENCE

• 1+ year of clinical experience in a patient care setting is highly preferred
• Experience using an EHR system is extremely helpful

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION

• Radiology technician license in Texas
• Current BLS Certification is required within 30 days of start
