In General:

The Training Coordinator is a multi-program shared service responsible for the effectiveness of Aircraft Painter development across the company. Reporting to the Head of Production and Flightline and independent of any single program, the role owns the company’s training system — the Training Matrix, induction training, and change- and corrective-action training — and works in a matrixed capacity with the Team Leaders and Production Coordinators to ensure the developmental needs of their assigned staff are understood and actively closed.

This role is defined by training effectiveness, not by a volume of hands-on delivery. The Training Coordinator delivers hands-on and classroom training where it adds value, but is primarily accountable for the standard, currency, and outcomes of Aircraft Painter development company-wide. Qualification to Team Leader competency (completed TATS Level 4) is a prerequisite.

Essential Duties:

The Training Coordinator is directly responsible for the following essential duties:

• Owning the company’s Training Matrix — maintaining an accurate, current record of Aircraft Painter competency across all programs.
• Owning overall training effectiveness for Aircraft Painter development: monitoring competency against the TATS and Skill Assessment, identifying gaps, and driving their closure companywide.
• Working in a matrixed capacity with Team Leaders and Production Coordinators — as a trusted partner aligning training initiatives with production goals and operational requirements — to ensure they understand the developmental needs of their assigned staff and are actively closing the gaps documented on each employee’s TATS and Skill Assessment.
• Establishing the approach to employeespecific development planning, and building individual development plans together with the Team Leaders and Production Coordinators.
• Overseeing ongoing training and skilldevelopment activities across all programs, ensuring the consistent application of best practices and standards.
• Delivering Induction (newhire) training, including human factors, site safety, the Employee Handbook and company policies, and other topics standard to an aircraft maintenance environment.
• Supporting the onboarding of new hires through the probationary period, serving as their training guide during induction.
• Administering the Weekly Score Card Program — the weekly performance and development feedback loop between Production, Human Resources, and the employee.
• Administering and overseeing training arising from changes relevant to aircraft painting and from corrective actions, ensuring affected staff are trained and records updated.
• Delivering handson and classroom training where it adds value to painter development.
• Coordinating the scheduling and delivery of training with the supervisory team to minimize the impact on production schedules.
• Developing and updating training materials, manuals, and visual aids, and supporting the design and continuous improvement of the Aircraft Painter training program, syllabus, and assessment tools.
• Maintaining accurate training records, certifications, and evidence of TATS completion, and ensuring the integrity of training documentation.
• Promoting a safetyfirst culture and ensuring PPE and regulatory compliance throughout all training activities.
• Reporting on training status, competency coverage, and gapclosure progress to the Head of Production and Flightline.
Secondary Duties:

The Training Coordinator may be called upon to support the following from time to time:

• Participating in rootcause and correctiveaction initiatives as a training subjectmatter expert.
• Supporting the interviewing and skills evaluation of candidate painters.
• Coordinating training for other functions (e.g., Human Resources, environmental management) and other topical areas, as routed through the Head of Production and Flightline.
• Other duties as may be assigned.
Skills and Experience:
• Qualified to Team Leader competency (completed TATS Level 4), or equivalent industry experience, with credible trade knowledge to train and assess Aircraft Painters.
• Ability to design and deliver training — handson and classroom — including induction, human factors, and site safety.
• Ability to maintain a competency matrix and training records accurately and to a controlleddocument standard.
• Ability to work effectively in a matrixed capacity across programs, influencing and securing outcomes without direct authority.
• Clear communication, strong organization, and a safetyfirst mindset.
Knowledgebase and Expertise:
• Subjectmatter expertise in aircraft coatings and application techniques, with a foundation from which companyspecific expertise can be established.
• Ability to read and interpret aircraft drawings and blueprints and align that information to documented processes and procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret material and safety data sheets (MSDS/SDS) and apply the requirements in a practical environment.
• Working understanding of hangar facility operations, with the ability to troubleshoot systems to a user level.
• Operatorlevel knowledge of painting tooling and equipment (e.g., sanders, electrostatic and HVLP guns, buffers), including routine maintenance and operability inspections.
• Working knowledge of calibrated test and measurement equipment.
• Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite.
Additional Requirements and Guidelines:
• At least 18 years old at the time of application.
• Eligible for employment within the US; willing to submit to a drug and alcohol screen and a background check.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred; a training, instructional, or humanfactors qualification is an advantage.
• Must be able to work shifts, including nights and weekends, and to work overtime as needed to reach staff across shifts.
• Must comply with all company rules, policies, and procedures as outlined in the Employee Handbook.
Physical Demands:

This role combines classroom and office-based work with regular hands-on training on the hangar floor. While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to:

• Stand, walk, and climb for extended periods while delivering training on the floor.
• Access aircraft work areas, including at height via industrial scaffolding, manlifts, and scissor lifts.
• Wear a respirator and required PPE while on the hangar floor.
• Occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
• See clearly, including adequate color vision, and hear clearly, with or without aids.

This role is performed across classroom, office, and aircraft hangar and/or flightline environments. While on the floor, the employee may be exposed to loud noise, fumes and/or airborne particles, and toxic or caustic chemicals (with proper PPE and training provided).
