Per Diem Pharmacist in Retail Pharmacy | Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

Support a specialty retail pharmacy serving complex patients in need of expert medication management. This per diem role focuses on providing high-level patient care and consultation for individuals managing multiple chronic conditions.

Location:

Pittsburgh, PA

Schedule:

Per diem availability Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
Multiple regular coverage dates to be scheduled as needed

Key Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive medication reviews for patients taking 8-15 medications daily
Consult confidently with patients managing chronic and advanced diseases such as diabetes, hypertension, and multiple sclerosis
Communicate effectively and compassionately with Medicare/Medicaid and low literacy patients
Operate using Pioneer Rx software to manage prescriptions and patient information
Uphold a care model prioritizing quality consultation over volume

Desired Qualifications:

Current Pennsylvania pharmacist license
Strong retail and/or specialty pharmacy experience, with preference for specialty pharmacy background
Proven ability to manage complex disease states and deliver patient-centered consultation
Exceptional communication skills and patience to serve a vulnerable patient population
Experience with Pioneer Rx software highly preferred
