School-Based Physical Therapist
Make a lasting impact in the lives of students as a school-based Physical Therapist for the 2026-2027 school year. This full-time, onsite opportunity involves supporting a diverse caseload of students aged 3-21 in an educational environment. The contract runs for the academic year, with the possibility of transition to a permanent role.
Qualifications:
- Current licensure from the Maryland State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
- Strong grasp of sensory-motor development, both typical and atypical, and comprehensive understanding of musculoskeletal function and dysfunction.
- Expertise in evaluating and treating individuals with a range of disabilities between the ages of 3 and 21.
- Proficient with orthotics, wheelchairs, adaptive positioning equipment, and assistive devices suited for pediatric and adolescent populations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver hands-on physical therapy services to meet the individual needs of students.
- Evaluate, develop, and implement therapeutic interventions as aligned with student goals.
- Consult and collaborate effectively with educational teams, families, and specialists.
- Document progress, participate in IEP meetings, and update care plans as required.
- Recommend and provide training on adaptive equipment and assistive devices to ensure accessibility and enhanced participation.
- Maintain compliance with state regulations, ethical standards, and professional best practices.
