Position Summary:

The Outreach and Marketing Specialist is responsible for promoting the organization’s services, generating referrals, and bringing in clients for the organization . This role focuses on outreach, relationship-building, and enrollment support to increase participation in programs such as Substance Abuse Treatment, Psychiatric Rehabilitation Program (PRP) The position also offers flexible hours based on outreach activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement outreach and marketing strategies to promote the organization’s behavioral health services and attract new clients.
• Support and coordinate client intake processes, ensuring timely completion of required documentation and successful program enrollment.
• Establish and maintain relationships with hospitals, detox facilities, emergency departments, primary care providers, behavioral health agencies, probation and parole offices, courts, social service agencies, homeless shelters, and community organizations.
• Conduct presentations, educational workshops, and community events to promote addiction treatment services.
• Represent the organization at networking events, health fairs, conferences, and community meetings.
• Meet monthly referral and outreach goals established by leadership.
• Track and document all outreach activities, referrals, and follow-up efforts in the organization's database.
• Collaborate with the admissions, intake, clinical, and case management teams to ensure timely processing of referrals.
• Follow up with referral sources to provide updates and maintain positive working relationships.
• Identify opportunities for new partnerships and community collaborations.
• Assist in developing marketing materials, brochures, flyers, newsletters, and social media outreach initiatives.
• Maintain knowledge of community resources and available treatment options.
• Educate referral partners on program eligibility, insurance acceptance, levels of care, and admission procedures.
• Participate in leadership meetings and provide regular outreach activity reports.
• Ensure all outreach activities comply with HIPAA, COMAR regulations, CARF standards (if applicable), and organizational policies.
• Perform other duties assigned by leadership.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in marketing, Communications, Business Administration, Social Work, Public Health, Psychology, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of outreach, marketing, admissions, business development, healthcare, behavioral health, or addiction treatment experience preferred.
• Knowledge of substance use disorders, mental health services, and recovery resources.
• Excellent communication, presentation, networking, and public speaking skills.
• Strong relationship-building and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and electronic health records (EHR).
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and willingness to travel throughout the service area.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in a substance use disorder (SUD) or Behavioral Health Program.
• Existing relationships with community referral sources.
• Knowledge of Medicaid, Medicare, and commercial insurance authorization processes.

Physical Requirements:

• Frequent local travel.
