This hospital is seeking an interventional cardiologist for locum tenens coverage. The facility operates as a Level IV trauma center with modern cardiac catheterization laboratory equipment and utilizes EPIC EMR for patient documentation and care coordination. The hospital maintains comprehensive cardiac services with dedicated support staff including intensivists and anesthesia support available on-site 24/7. The facility provides specialized interventional cardiology capabilities for both emergency STEMI procedures and routine interventional cases.

Kentucky offers diverse attractions centered around natural formations and outdoor experiences. The Louisville Mega Cavern stands as a prominent underground attraction, while Mammoth Cave provides additional cave exploration opportunities. The Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington serves as a focal point for equestrian activities, including horseback riding experiences. The state accommodates various outdoor activities and adventure races throughout the region. Entertainment options include sporting events, bars, and family-oriented activities that cater to different interests and age groups.

The interventional cardiologist will provide comprehensive cardiac care at this Level IV trauma facility using EPIC EMR system. The assignment involves inpatient care and clinic consultations as needed, with an average census of 70-90 patients. The clinician will manage cath lab volume averaging 3-5 cases per day and inpatient load averaging 5 per day, with occasional clinic responsibilities. STEMI call requires 24-hour coverage for emergency cardiac interventions. Required experience includes ischemic heart disease interventions such as PCI, stent placement, and thrombectomy, valve disease procedures including valvuloplasty and percutaneous repair/replacement, congenital heart abnormalities, balloon angioplasty, and use of cutting/laser devices for plaque removal. The locum will serve as the sole clinician with APC support from 8-10 AM and after 3 PM, with additional backup available if urgent situations arise.

• Case Load/PPD:  3-5 cath lab cases per day, 5 inpatients per day
• Support Staff:  APC support from 8-10 AM and after 3 PM, intensivists and anesthesia support on-site 24/7
