Surgical Technologist

Under the Perioperative leader, the Surgical Technologist assumes responsibility and accountability for assuring quality care as a member of the health care team within the perioperative environment. The scope of responsibility includes the ability to anticipate, plan for, and respond to the needs of the patient, surgeon, and other team members. Maintains confidentiality of information regarding patients, patient families, coworkers, and physicians. Call is required, with approximately weekday/night call once every 7-10 days and full weekend call every 5-6 weeks. The position primarily involves neuro cases, requiring strong experience in this area. General job duties involve preparation and maintenance of the operating room and assisting during surgical procedures. The facility utilizes computerized charting systems. Dress code consists of surgery scrubs provided. Floating to other units may be required, including general, orthopedic, and cardiovascular operating rooms. Overall, the role requires commitment to quality patient care in a fast-paced surgical environment.
