JOB SUMMARY: The Micro Soldering Technician performs precision hand-soldering and microscopic reworks on surface-mount technology (SMT) and through-hole components. Working primarily under high-magnification stereomicroscopes, the technician fixes broken traces, swaps complex microchips, and rectifies manufacturing defects on delicate circuitry. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: · Precision Soldering : Perform intricate hand-soldering of microscopic components

• PCB Rework & Repair : Diagnose, desolder, and replace damaged or defective parts without damaging surrounding traces.
• Microscopic Inspection : Utilize high-powered digital and stereomicroscopes to inspect solder joints for quality and compliance.
• Component Testing : Use multimeters, oscilloscopes, and automated test equipment to troubleshoot inoperative assemblies.
• Quality Standard Adherence : Review work against strict industry quality guidelines, most notably IPC-A-610 or J-STD-001 certification standards
• Documentation : Maintain detailed logs of components repaired, materials used, and testing outcomes.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND TOOLS: Manual Dexterity : Exceptional hand-eye coordination and a steady hand are essential for manipulating microscopic parts. Equipment Proficiency : Mastery of fine-tipped micro-soldering irons, hot air rework stations, preheaters, & ultrasonic cleaners. Chemical Knowledge : Correct utilization of specialized materials like liquid/gel flux, low-melt solder, solder wicks, & isopropyl alcohol. ESD Safety : Strict adherence to Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) protocols to avoid destroying sensitive microelectronics. QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS: Education : High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or vocational certification in electronics is preferred. Experience : Generally requires 1 to 4+ years of hands-on experience in fine-pitch electronic assembly or hardware repair. Certifications : Industry-standard certifications such as IPC-A-610 , IPC-7711/7721 , or J-STD-001 are heavily preferred by employers.
